Minimalist Movie Package Project

This minimalist movie package includes a poster, premiere ticket, and ticket package, all inspired by a theoretical film narrative I created. The story follows a first-generation American navigating a culturally divided life who, after being caught by her parents making reckless decisions, is sent to live with family in rural Ethiopia. There, she discovers beauty in the mundane and a renewed sense of meaning through reconnecting with her heritage.

I designed all of my movie materials using Adobe Illustrator. For my color scheme, I chose warm tones to reflect the feelings of acceptance and love felt by the main character in the scene depicted on the poster. The title font is inspired by the ancient Ethiopian script, Ge’ez. My package and ticket share the same warm palette, with the movie premiere ticket modeled after an Ethiopian Airlines boarding pass and the ticket package resembling a dual-sided passport—symbolically weaving together both sides of the main character’s identity.
